What It's Like to Sit in Section 316

Awesome Seats
Before going to my first Cubs game, (vs. Los Angeles Dodgers) I kept going back and forth on where we should sit. At first, I really wanted to sit in the 200 Reserved sections because it is in the lower level and it has cheap prices. But after I found out about the potential risk of the poles blocking the entire game, we decided to play it safe and sit in the unobstructed 400 level. As soon as we found our seats, I knew we made a good decision. Section 419 was right behind home plate and despite it being a cloudy, gloomy day, it offered a fantastic view of Wrigley Field. Also, despite being in the upper deck you could still see the players very clearly and you truly felt as if you were a fan of the game, and not just someone who is trying squint and look in.
Another really cool thing is that you were right below all the commentators calling the game as well as the 7th inning stretch. At one point, Bob Brenly (cubs TV commentator) waved to me! One of the very few negatives that I can think of is that we had to travel a decent distance to get to the bathroom as well as the concession stands. Also, I didn't see very many people coming around with concessions into our sections but that might've been just me not seeing it. Even though the Cubs did not have a very productive day, the crowd atmosphere was still very good and there were no obnoxious or rude people. Just fans who truly wanted to see the game.
The seats were relatively comfortable, however, I wish there was slightly more leg room so I didn't have to scoot in against my seat every time somebody wanted to pass by. Finally, the real only way you don't want to sit in this section is if you are trying to catch a foul ball. Since we were right behind home plate, the screen protecting the fans blocked every ball that came our way and we went home empty handed. Nevertheless, it is an extraordinary section with a fantastic bird eyes view and I highly recommend sitting here the next time you see a game at Wrigley Field.
