Best Seats for Great Views of the Field

Angel Stadium is one of the ten largest major league ballparks in use today. The stadium is made up of three main seating levels with a block of suites separating the second and third seating decks. The stadium is highly symmetrical which results in equitable views from each side of the field and few surprises when it comes to finding the best seats.

The first seating deck at Angel Stadium is made up of 100s and 200s sections. Despite being numbered as if they were on a completely different level, 200s sections are simply an extension of the seats labeled in the 100s. Among these seats, the best views will be found in the upper rows of 100 level sections. Aim for rows S-Z which will provide enough elevation to see the field comfortably and will have you sitting just in front of the walkway.

Meanwhile, seats on the 200 level are also well-elevated to help you see the field in a single glance, but they do come with some cautions. First, we recommend skipping the first three rows (A-C) in these sections due to their position behind the walkway. With fans shuttling back in forth in front of these rows, your view can easily become distracted or disrupted. We also recommend skipping out on rows H-K in these sections if you want the best views of the field. These rows offer an excellent escape from the sun, but the overhang can obstruct your view of the scoreboard and flyballs.

The second seating deck is also known as the club level, and contains seats labeled in the 300s. When looking at tickets in these sections, it is important to sit in a section as close to the infield as possible. Seating closer to the outfield is horribly angled towards home plate - and despite being elevated - results in significant head-turning to see the batter-pitcher exchange. As there are no home plate seats on this level, we recommend seating on the third base side with the best views of the videoboard and less direct sun.

Finding tickets behind home plate at an Angels game can be a difficult task. At field level the only seating behind home plate is in the Diamond sections. Tickets in these seats are rarely available - and when they are - they tend to come with a high pricetag due to their exclusive benefits. Among common seating, you must go all the way up to the upper deck for the next set of seats behind home plate. Specifically, sections 416-421 and 518-523 will give you the best birds-eye view of the field. Just be careful with row placement in these sections. The 500 level is an extension of the 400 level. So if your 500 level ticket says row H - typically about ten rows back - you're actually in the 20th row of the upper deck because of the ten rows in the 400 level. We recommend paying a few extra dollars to sit in the 400s sections, but only if you can sit in rows F-J. A railing at the front of the 400 level severely disrupts the view in the lower rows and is not work the risk.

A few more notes when purchasing tickets:

  • Seats on the third-base side are always better than similar seats on the first-base side; this is the Angels side, you have a direct view of the scoreboard and the sun sets behind the seats
  • Always spend the extra money to sit closer to the infield; the sitelines from these sections are much more comfortable than in the outfield
  • Seats in RF sections - both in fair and foul territory - are heavily exposed to the sun; when the sun is setting it can be very difficult to see home plate from these sections

Sections 315, 316, 317 and 318

  • Best elevated views from the infield
  • In-seat wait service so that fans do not have to miss any part of the game to get refreshments
  • Wider, padded seating to give viewers extra comfort

Rows T-Z in Sections 110, 111, 112 and 113

  • Elevated views from just above the Angels dugout
  • Comfortable sitelines to all parts of the field
  • Head-on view of the main scoreboard

Rows D-G in Sections 210, 211, 212 and 213

  • Elevated seating from the field level and high enough above the walkway to see over fans going back and forth
  • Good views of the field, scoreboard and Angels dugout
  • Good protection from the sun and rain without obstructions from the overhang

Rows D-J in Sections 415, 416, 417 and 418

  • One of the few seating areas behind home plate that is not club seats
  • High enough to see above the railing at the front of the 400 level
  • Comfortable views of the field, scoreboard and surrounding area
