RYS Expert Reviews
Bleachers
(2026 Review) -
Direct Outfield Perspective: Located in deep center field, providing a "big-picture" view of the diamond from behind the bullpens.
Budget-Friendly: Consistently the cheapest tickets in the stadium; ideal for fans on a strict budget.
Sun-Drenched Exposure: Completely uncovered and West-facing, making them the most sun-heavy seats in the Bronx.
Reputational Atmosphere: High-energy and notoriously rowdy; known for loud chanting, occasional foul language, and a hostile vibe for visiting fans.
NYCFC Supporters Zone: For soccer matches, Sections 235–238 on the left-field side serve as the official Supporters Sections.
Who Should Sit Here
The Bleachers at Yankee Stadium are best for die-hard New York Yankees fans who want to experience the stadium’s most intense traditions without breaking the bank. This is a zone for social, vocal fans who enjoy heckling and high-energy camaraderie. It is not recommended for families with young children, visiting team fans, or anyone sensitive to heat and long periods of standing. If you prefer a quiet, comfortable viewing experience with a backrest, you should spend the extra money for Main Level seating.
Where These Seats Are Located
The Bleachers are located in the outfield, stretching from left-center to right-center field.
The Layout: Sections are numbered 202–204 (Right Field) and 235–238 (Left Field).
Monument Park Proximity: These sections are located directly above the famous Monument Park and the center-field plaza, making it easy to visit the stadium's historical exhibits before first pitch.
The Bullpens: Section 237 and 238 look directly down into the visitors' bullpen, while Sections 202–204 sit above the Yankees' bullpen.
Seating Type: Unlike the rest of the stadium, these are backless metal benches. You will be sitting shoulder-to-shoulder with other fans on hard aluminum.
Field View & Perspective
While the price is low, the view comes with significant trade-offs that every buyer should be aware of:
Depth Perception: Being in the deep outfield makes it difficult to judge pitch movement or close plays at the plate. You are essentially watching the game from the furthest possible point.
Center Field Obstructions: Avoid rows higher than Row 10 in Sections 202 and 238. In these upper rows, the center-field restaurant structure and sports bar can significantly clip your view of the opposite side of the outfield.
Home Run Territory: These are prime "souvenir" seats. If you want a chance at catching a home run ball, the front rows of the bleachers are the best place to be.
Things to Know & Pro-Tips
The "Bleacher Creatures": Section 203 is the home of the "Bleacher Creatures." If you sit here, you are expected to participate in the "Roll Call" during the top of the first inning, where fans chant the name of every Yankees fielder until they acknowledge the crowd.
Sun Strategy: Because these seats face West/Southwest, the sun sets directly in your eyes during late afternoon games. Sunglasses, hats, and heavy sunscreen are functional requirements—not suggestions.
Visiting Fan Warning: Yankee fans in this area are notoriously "unfriendly" to those wearing opposing jerseys. If you are a visiting fan, expect constant heckling; if you want a peaceful afternoon, consider the 300 or 400 levels instead.
Alcohol Policy Note: Unlike some family-friendly sections in the 400 level, the Bleachers are a "high-consumption" area. Expect a loud, adult-oriented environment.
Fan Reviews
The infamous bleacher creatures reside in the right field bleachers, in Section 203 This is the best atmosphere in the stadium, but it isn't for the faint of heart. If you are offended by some foul language and occasional brawls, this might not be the section for you. Additionally, beer vendors aren't allowed to sell their product within the confines of these sections, but fans can leave and return to the section with a few cold ones.
