Who Should Sit Here
Main Level seats at Yankee Stadium are ideal for fans who want an elevated view without feeling far from the field. For Yankees games, these sections provide one of the best combinations of proximity and perspective in the ballpark. For soccer matches, fans should be more selective about section location to avoid sharper viewing angles.
Main Level Location & Details
The Yankee Stadium seating chart lists Sections 205 through 217 and 223 through 234 as Main Level seating.
Sections 205–217 begin behind the home dugout and wrap around the first base line into the outfield corner. Sections 223–234 mirror this layout on the third base side, extending down the line and into the opposite outfield corner.
These sections sit directly above the Field Level and extend outward over the lower bowl. Because of this overhanging design, they are much closer to the field than they appear on the seating chart.
Sections closer to home plate and the infield offer the most desirable vantage points, particularly for Yankees games.
Views from the Main Level
Yankees Games
For New York Yankees games, these seats offer some of the best overall views in the stadium.
The overhanging design places fans closer to the action than typical second-tier seating. In fact, in the first few rows near the infield, you cannot see the lower-level seats below you — giving the impression that you are much closer to the field.
The elevation provides a comfortable angle to track pitch location, defensive positioning, and scoreboard activity without feeling removed from the action.
Soccer Matches
For soccer matches, the experience can vary more by section.
While the elevation remains ideal, some sections have sharper angles toward the pitch due to the field reconfiguration. Sections 227A through 231 generally offer the best angles to the soccer field and are preferable for fans prioritizing sightlines during non-baseball events.
Which Row Is Best?
Row selection makes a noticeable difference in this area.
Skip the First Few Rows:
The lowest rows can have slight sightline interference from railings or signage. They also require a longer walk up and down stairs.
Top Rows Offer Convenience & Shade:
The highest rows are closest to the concourse and sit underneath the overhang. These seats are a great option for families and fans who prefer easier access to amenities while staying protected from direct sun.
