RYS Expert Reviews
300 Level Grandstand (Concert)
- The 300 Level Grandstand sections are located on the lower portion of the upper seating tier along the west sideline at Soldier Field. While these seats may appear far on a seating chart, the sections here actually extend almost completely over the Media Deck seats above providing decent views if you are lucky enough to find seats in the first few rows. For a traditional end stage performance, seats in the lower rows of sections 340-341 are a good place to seek out a decent view at an affordable price. But we recommend being cautious if searching in the first 3 rows of section 340 (and sections 336 and 333 also) as camera wells located just to the left can impact your view from the lower numbered seats. Entry tunnels are located at the top of these 15 row sections, so while the lowest rows have the furthest walks from the concourse, the difference in view is certainly worth it. And as these seats face toward the east, you can find decent shade starting in the late afternoon for a daytime performance.
300 Level Grandstand (Football)
- Located at the front of the upper seating deck on the west sideline, the 300 Level Grandstand sections offer great value for fans that want a sideline view at Soldier Field. As the sections here provide complete overhead coverage for the 200 level Media Deck seats below, they extend close to the field for great views (especially in Sections 335-339 which are right near midfield). With just 15 rows of seating in most sections, fans here will never be too far from the concourse for trips to the restrooms and concessions. Handicap accessible seating is also available in the top rows of Sections 332 and 336.
300 Level Sideline (Soccer)
- Sections 330-344 offer great sideline views of soccer matches at Soldier Field. These sections are not club sections like their equivalents on the east side of the stadium. Fans sitting in this location will share a concourse with the 400 levels above. Sections have 15 rows each. Each row has around 18 seats with seat 1 starting on the left side of the section.
Grandstand Seats
-
Two levels: The Grandstands cover sections 427-447 in the 400 Level, and many fans count 330-344 in the 300 Level as part of the area too.
Best value: The cheapest tickets for Bears games and concerts are typically in the 400 Level.
Seat choice matters: In the 400 Level, buy the lowest row your budget allows — top rows mean a 50-stair climb and a 20-minute round-trip for restrooms or concessions.
Windy-day caveat: Edge sections 427-429 and 445-447 are heavily exposed to the elements.
Who Should Sit Here
The Grandstands suit budget-minded fans who want to be inside Soldier Field without paying for the closest seats. The 300 Level rewards those who value a consistently solid view of the field, while the 400 Level works for anyone willing to trade a longer walk and more exposure for the lowest price. It is recommended to pick your section and row carefully if stairs are difficult for you.
Where the Grandstands Are
On the Soldier Field seating chart, the Grandstands form one of the largest collections of seats in the stadium. The 400 Level runs across sections 427-447, and sections 330-344 in the 300 Level are often grouped in as well.
In the 400 Level, rows are numbered, and Row 1 is the first row in most sections. Each section is reached by a staircase, so even getting to Row 1 requires a climb, and sections hold up to 37 rows. In the 300 Level, sections have 15 or fewer rows, and you enter at the top row.
What You'll See
The view varies dramatically in the 400 Level depending on where you sit: front rows are roughly 50 rows from the field, while the back rows are nearly 90 rows away. The 300 Level is far more forgiving — it's hard to find a bad seat in sections 330-344 for football, with every seat sitting 30-45 rows from the field, whether you're in the first row or the last.
Good to Know
Best concert seats here: Among all Grandstand sections, 335-338 offer a comfortable angle to the stage without being too far back.
Shade: Facing the field, Grandstand sections on the right side are shaded first and the sun will set behind the seats as it gets later in the day
Accessibility: Accessible seating is available on the 300 Level; the 400 Level requires stairs and is inaccessible.
