"Great view of the outfield"

Seat Review From Section 148, Row 8
Dec 2012

Comments

This is my third or fourth time sitting in this section. Each time, I've sat in a row number less than ten. I prefer to be as close to the field as possible, but the one drawback is that you have to turn your body to the right to watch home plate. Otherwise you are staring into the outfield. If I were to buy seats here again, I would try to get in the first three rows, or something beyond row 10 where you don't have to contort your body as much to see home plate.

Overall, though, the Lower Level at U.S. Cellular Field is great. Section 148 has a head-on view of the out-of-town scoreboard and views of the jumbotron and the White Sox bullpen are perfect!

Best for... watching the game, being close to the action, impressing a guest, Catching a foul ball

Right on top of the field

    Jul 2012

    Section 148, Row 2, Seats 1-4

Seats are in the actual third row (there is a lettered row which is the front row). The first few rows in this section are very flat, which means a couple things: 1) You feel like you're right on top of the field and 2) You may have trouble seeing over larger people in front of you. The angle towards home plate is also poor and you have to contort your body to the right to keep your eyes on home plate. There are a lot of foul balls hit on the ground towards these seats and if you're lucky you can hop down the stairs, reach over the railing and snag a ball. A young girl sitting in the actual front row got two balls during our game. Despite this game being a sell-out, food and bathroom lines were reasonable - even between innings. The only issue is that you have to walk up about 30 rows to get to the concourse, so it's quite a hike.

Great seats with lots of foul balls

    Section 148, Row 2, Seat 3

Great seats with tons of foul balls. Definitely bring your glove and be ready! While the seat said row 2, we were actually in the 3rd row. The 1st row of this section is A and then the numbering starts in the 2nd row.

Front of sections 108-156 are behind the netting

There is some amount of netting or screening in front of all lower level sections in foul territory. The height and coverage of netting or screening will vary by section.

    • "Half Price Seats Over Visiting Bullpen"

      (Section 108) - -

Tickets were half off (originally $39.00). Seats are kind of behind the foul pole, but we were not obstructed where we sat because we were far enough back. Sitting in a back row in this section is great because you have very easy access to the restrooms and some of baseball's best concessions.

    • "Great view, shade, but lacking crowd"

      (Section 111) - -

The seats had a nice view and in a 90 degree game like today you need the shade. Unfortunately, most fans were quiet and there were a lot of open seats.

    • "Cool Angle to the Field"

      (Section 109) - -

These seats are listed as obstructed view when you go to buy them. As a result, they were all that was left for a Cubs/Sox game. I took the gamble on them, and it totally paid off. From this spot, the foul pole is to the side of you (not in front like sec 108). It limits your view of a small slic...
