RYS Expert Reviews

Main Level

(2026 Review) - Primary Lower-Level Seating: Includes Sections 101–127, commonly referred to as Home Plate, Infield, Diamond, and Field Box seats.    Best Non-Club Seats: Sections 105–123 provide excellent infield views just behind the premium seating areas.    Home Plate Sweet Spot: Sections 112–115 offer the most centered views behind home plate.    Large Baseline Sections: Sections 101–104 and 124–127 run down each baseline and contain up to 30 rows.    Shade in Upper Rows: Many seats Row 13 and higher are under the overhang for protection from sun and rain.    Who Should Sit Here  Main Level seats are ideal for fans who want to sit close to the field without paying for club or all-inclusive seating areas. These sections provide some of the best traditional ballpark views and are a popular choice for fans who want strong sightlines of the infield.  Location & Seating Details  The Main Level at Target Field refers to the lower seating bowl, which includes Sections 101 through 127.  On the Twins seating chart, these sections are typically categorized into four groups:  Home Plate Boxes    Infield Boxes    Diamond Boxes    Field Boxes    Sections 105–123 sit behind the premium Champions Club and Dugout Box seating, meaning the first row in these sections is typically about 15 rows from the field.  Sections 101–104 and 124–127 run down each baseline and are the largest sections on the lower level, extending up to 30 rows deep.  Views from the Main Level  The Main Level provides excellent views of the infield and home plate thanks to the lower-bowl location and carefully angled seating design.  Sections 112–115 are considered the best seats in this area, as they sit directly behind home plate and offer a perfectly centered perspective of the field.  Baseline sections (101–104 and 124–127) provide a strong look at plays along the foul lines while still allowing fans to comfortably follow the action across the entire diamond.  Because the baseline sections are relatively shallow in angle, fans seated farther back may occasionally have difficulty seeing over fans in front of them, especially for children.  Shade & Weather Considerations  Rows 13 and higher in many of the Home Plate and Infield Box sections are located under the overhang from the seating deck above, which helps provide protection from rain and offers some of the earliest shade during day games.  Two exceptions to this are Sections 106 and 123, which have less overhead coverage.  For fans deciding between sides of the field:  Third base side (Sections 125–127): Typically receives sun longer during day games.    First base side (upper rows): Often provides better shade coverage, especially in the last ten rows.    Nearby Amenities  Fans sitting near Sections 112–115 benefit from several convenient amenities nearby, including:  ATM access    Family restroom facilities    Multiple concession stands    One of the main stadium entrances is also located near Section 115, making this a convenient area for fans who want an easier exit after the game.  For fans interested in diverse food options, Section 126 sits near several popular concession locations including the Carvery and Asian Wok stands, along with other nearby food vendors.

Seating and Ticket Q&A

Where will the shade be for a July game at Target Field?

Verified by an RYS expert

Sitting behind home plate will put the sun at your back quicker than any other area at Target Field. Some of the best options for shade during a July game will be located in the upper rows of sections 109-119 as they are located behind home plate and have good protection from the overhanging seating deck above. Opt for rows 17 and higher for the best coverage and sun protection in these lower level sections during a summer day game at Target Field.
