Upper Level

- On the Rupp Arena seating chart, 200-Level seats are also known as Upper Level sections. For concerts and basketball games, this is usually the best place to find cheap tickets. Upper Level Side Sections  Most Upper Level sections can be classified into either Side or End. Between these two, side sections are (e.g.: 211-217) are the more desirable location. When choosing seats along the side, pay close attention to the row you're sitting in. There are 25 rows in each section with an entrance at the front. Paying a few extra dollars to sit in a lower row will make it easier to get to and from the concourse and result in better sitelines. Side sections include 211-217 and 228-234. Rows go from A-Z in these sections and all seats are chairback-style. End Sections  True budget seats can be found on the ends. These are bench-style seats for fans who just want to get in the building. End sections 238-241 are reserved for UK students during basketball games Sections 235-244 are behind the stage for most concerts

Fan Reviews

Like a Different Country in the Upper Arena I went to the UK game as a neutral fan. And I'll tell you what, it's tough to be anything but a Kentucky fan in the Upper Arena. It's like a different country up there. It smells like cigarettes and chewing tobacco and the fans aren't afraid to speak their mind (in their own Kentucky dialect). I kind of wished I was a fan of Kentucky sitting up there. It was tight-knit community of people who cared about one thing, and one thing only: winning.

The people were diehard fans, for sure. And with how awfully uncomfortable the Upper Arena is, you have to be to sit up there for two hours. Section 213 has 34 seats in the row and about 40 total rows. Row U was about halfway up a set of steep stairs, and thank God I had Seat 31. Seat 34 was the left aisle seat so I only had to walk over a couple people. If you were right at mid-court in Seat 17 or 18, you actually have a really good view -- but you also have to slide by 15 people on your way in and out.

The view from 213 was actually quite good. The section straddles mid-court, so you can see everything clearly. I wouldn't go much higher than Row U. The court will begin to seem small and the videoboards are small and far away. They did install monitors for the really high rows (think AA and above), but they are really tiny.

The seats up here do not have backs, so get used to people jamming their knees in your back and lots of standing. Like I said, if you're a Kentucky fan, the atmosphere will distract you from these annoyances. But if you're looking for comfort, spend a few extra bucks to sit in the lower level and get a stadium seat.
