Who Should Sit Here

Lawn seats are ideal for fans looking for a comfortable, laid-back concert experience. This is a great option for groups, casual outings, or anyone who prefers open space and flexibility over assigned seating.

Lawn Location & Details

The Lawn at Merriweather Post Pavilion is located behind the reserved seating sections and serves as a large, open-air general admission area.

Fans can choose their own spot upon arrival, making timing an important factor in overall experience. The grassy layout allows guests to spread out more than in traditional seating areas, creating a more relaxed environment.

Views from the Lawn

Views from the lawn are more distant compared to reserved seating, but still provide a full perspective of the stage.

Positioning plays a key role — more centered spots typically offer the best sightlines, especially when paired with the natural elevation of the lawn. For popular shows, crowd density can impact visibility, particularly if arriving later.

Lawn Guidelines & Experience

The lawn offers a social and flexible environment where fans can sit, stand, or move around freely. It’s especially appealing for those who want a less structured concert experience.

• Blankets and lawn chairs (no legs) are permitted

• Coolers and outside food/beverages are not allowed

• Arriving early is key for securing a preferred spot

• Lawn can become crowded for high-demand shows

• Best suited for fans prioritizing comfort and atmosphere over proximity
