RYS Expert Reviews

100 Level Behind the Net (Hockey)

- From behind the nets on the lower 100 level, fans have a great perspective to see how plays develop as the players move down the ice. Sitting behind the net is not always as it can be difficult to judge offside calls, but being on the lower level will keep you close to the action and you'll be one of the first to know when a puck makes it into the near net. Sabres fans looking to sit in this location should try and get seats in Sections 110-112 because this is the side where the Sabres will shoot twice during the game. This will give fans a better chance of being near a goal scored by the home team.

Rinkside

(2026 Review) - Rinkside Location: The first row of seating in the lower level, right up against the glass — commonly known as Glass Seats.  Closest Possible View: The nearest look at scoring plays anywhere in the building, with the action just inches away.  No Added Perks: Unlike many glass seats around the league, these do not include club access or all-inclusive benefits — the draw is purely the front-row vantage point.  Rare Availability: These seats aren't on the market often, making them a bucket-list option for Sabres fans.  Who Should Sit Here  Rinkside VIP at KeyBank Center is for the fan who wants to be as close to the game as physically possible. If feeling the boards shake and watching plays unfold at ice level matters more to you than lounge access or included food and drink, this is the once-in-a-lifetime seat to chase for a Buffalo Sabres game.  Rinkside VIP Seating Details  These are the Glass Seats — the very first row of the lower level, wrapping the ice at KeyBank Center. Seats along the sides put you near the player benches or penalty boxes, while seats toward the ends place you directly behind the action at each net.  Views from the Rinkside VIP  You get the closest look in the arena. Along the side, you're level with the benches and penalty boxes; near the end, you'll feel the vibrations of the boards and have the tightest view of scoring plays. Wherever you land in this row, the experience is memorable.  Good to Know  Pick your spot by what you want to see: the ends deliver the closest scoring-play perspective and the most contact with the glass, while the sides keep you next to the benches and penalty boxes. Just remember these are pure front-row seats — no club or all-inclusive amenities come with them.

Seating Notes

  • For most hockey hockey games, these seats are located on the end where the visitors shoot twice
  • Head-on view of the performance for end-stage concerts
  • Rows 1 are part of the Rinkside for Sabres games

Good seats with a good view — The net does interfere with the view at the other end, and the seating is tight. My wife and I are not over weight but I find the seating tight.

  • Seating and Ticket Q&A

  • Does the glass or netting affect the view in Section 123 at First Niagara Center?

The protective netting behind the goal will be in the line of sight for all seating rows in Section 123, but does not provide a significant obstruction to the view from these seats. In Row 10, you will have to look through the glass as the play moves inside the near blue line, and when sitting this close it may be difficult to follow the puck against the near end boards.

  • How are the seats in Section 123 Row 9 at First Niagara Center?

For a traditional end stage performance, Section 123 will be one of the furthest seating sections from the stage on the lower level, but you will also have a direct head-on view to the center of the stage with great sight lines to all the action. There are a total of 23 rows in the section, so you will be in the front half at row 9, with a very good viewing height up from the floor level.

Overall these will be good seats, with the superior sight lines to the center of the stage making up for the further distance.
