RYS Expert Reviews

On the Glass

(2026 Review) - Glass seats at American Airlines Center are all seats in Row A of the Plaza Level. Many fans would consider these the best seats for a Dallas Stars game. Being within arms reach of the action gives fans an appreciation for the size and speed of the players on the ice. In addition to having one of the most exciting seats for watching a hockey game at American Airlines Center, fans with a ticket on the glass will have access to the Tequila Patron Lounge which offers all-inclusive food and beverage. Where to Sit  Sections 111-114 are on the end of the ice the Stars will shoot twice. Sitting in Glass Seats in these sections would literally be a front row seat to many Stars scoring opportunities. Sitting at the ends also has the least amount of obstructed views from the glass. Sections 106 and 107 will be near center ice. However, due to the angles along the glass some areas of the ice in the corners may be tough to see.

Plaza Level

- The lower bowl of American Airlines Center is called the Plaza Level. This is usually the first place fans look for tickets when attending a Mavs or Stars game. Your experience in the Plaza Level will depend on the type of event you're going to. For basketball games, we strongly recommend purchasing tickets in one of the eight sections that run along the sideline. It will cost extra to sit here, but you'll have better sitelines than if you sit behind the basket. There are a number of great options in the Plaza Level for hockey games. Corner sections give you a great angle towards center ice, while seats along the side allow you to see just how fast the game is. If you're a Stars fan - and you're not sitting near center ice - consider tickets near sections 108-117. The Stars shoot toward this net in the first and third periods. Or if money is no issue, consider the ultimate ticket: Glass Seats in the first row. Concert Tickets on the Plaza Level  The Plaza Level is a popular alternative to Floor Seats for concerts. Guests will still find close views and will have an easier time seeing over guests in front of them. The layout of the stage varies, but it is most often placed in front of sections 101 and 124. When this is the case, sections 105 and 120 are the best Plaza Level seats.

Seating and Ticket Q&A

Is it better to sit close to the glass or in the first row of the platinum level?

Much of this has to do with personal preference and what is more desirable to you as a fan. Below are some of the pros and cons to each option and from there you can hopefully weigh which traits of the seats are most important to you.

Lower level sections of course are very close to the ice and the action. These seats are extremely exciting to see the players and appreciate the speed of the game. Details are so easy to come by such as facial expressions, players communicating, and the sounds of the skates on the ice. The downside of these seats is that in some sections (especially as you move closer to the corners) it can be difficult to see portions of the ice. This happens because the angle on the glass creates a blurred effect making it hard to see. Many fans will compensate for this by watching the jumbotron when the play is in this part of the ice. The good thing about hockey is that the game goes back and forth a lot, so the players are never out of view for too long. We typically suggest that hockey fans should always sit in close seats like these at least once just for the experience alone.

Platinum seats will offer some of the best views to watch the entire game. Unlike the seats in row 5, no matter where you sit on the platinum level the entire ice surface will be in view. This makes for a very comfortable experience to watch a game which gets even better with in-seat wait service so you never have to leave to get food or beverage. Of course you won't have the thrill of being just a few feet away from the players, but many people also like to be set back a bit more to take everything in.
