Best Seats For a Concert at Xcel Energy Center
The most common seating layout at Xcel Energy Center for concerts is an end-stage setup with the stage located near sections Section 120, Section 121 and Section 122. For many concerts there are also slight variations to the layout, which may include General Admission seats, fan pits and B-stages.
On the Floor: Sections Floor Center, Floor Left and Floor Right are Floor Seats, which offer some of the closest views of the performers. For many concerts, floor sections are added or removed. These performer-specific adjustments may alter the floor layout and the views from each floor section.
To the Side of the Stage: For close views of the stage with a little bit of elevation, consider seats to the side of the stage in Section 102, Section 103 and Section 117. The view is not head-on like on the floor, but many of the seats are closer to the stage, provide better elevation and are actual stadium seats.
Section C14 offers a comfortable head-on view for end-stage shows
Head-on to the Stage: Seats directly across from the stage, like those in Section 109, Section 110, Section 111 and Section 210 provide the most comfortable looks of the performance.
Even upper level sections offer unobstructed sitelines. Just keep in mind that you won't be able to see as much detail from these seats as you would if you sat closer to the stage.
Consider the Following When Buying Concert Tickets
Seats behind the stage are occassionally sold: Unless your main objective is to just get in the building, you'll want to completely avoid anything behind the stage - like those in/near or above sections Section 120, Section 121, Section 122 and Section 123. It's unlikely the performer will turn around to salute you - and you're more likely to be completely blocked out from seeing the show.
If you're on the shorter side (or bringing kids), consider floor seats only in the first few rows: The most common complaint amongst floor ticketholders is that they can't see the stage because of taller people in front of them. As an alternative, consider side sections near the stage that will still have you close and high enough to see.
Lower level side sections are not created equal: While the side sections closest to the stage are top-notch, side sections farther from the stage may leave you with a cramp in your neck. Sections 105 and 115 are not well-angled towards the stage - leaving you to turn your head for an ideal view. Instead, consider head-on sections in the lower level or even close side seats in the upper level like 203 and 220.
Floor Seats - Floor seating at Xcel Energy Center is divided into three sections for most end-stage performances. These sections are commonly labeled Floor Right, ...

Shoot Twice Seating for Hockey
The Wild shoot twice towards the net in front of Sections 106 and 107. Along with nearby sections, these seats will give you the best views of the Wild as they attack in the first and third periods.

Views are widely varied in end seating on the club level. Sections in the corner, like C12 and C13, have surprisingly good views of the entire ice surface with a great angle towards center ice. Meanwhile, seats closer to center ice, like C2 and C10, have a poorer angle to center ice and can leave you with uncomfortable views of the action due to a significant head turn.
Finally, the end sections will give you premium club level benefits and have a "video-game"-like view where you can watch plays develop. The big disadvantage here being that the other end of the ice gets a little far.
Lower Level Behind the Net (Hockey) Seating
Lower level seating behind the net includes three sections on each side of the ice with up to 26 rows of seating in each section. The Wild shoot twice towards sections 109-111, making them popular with home team fans.
The views on the lower level behind the net aren't the best in the arena. The other side of the rink seems kind of far away and all views of the ice are through the protective net. Sit in Row 20+ to have a better view of the other end and to be close to the concourse. Row 1 ticketholders on the glass receive complimentary food and drink.
Lower Level Corner (Hockey) Seating
Relative to center ice seats, corner seats on the lower level are an inexpensive way to get close to the ice. Fans will find up to 26 numbered rows of seating, starting with Row 1 on the glass. These Row 1 patrons receive complimentary food and drink, along with access to the multiple club areas.
For the rest of the fans in these sections, they'll find better views of the whole ice in double-digit rows, though Sections 108, 112, 121 and 125 will still be looking through the protective net to see the ice.
Lower Level Sides (Hockey) Seating
The most sought after seats not on the Club Level are at center ice in Sections 103, 104, 116 and 117. These seats have some of the best up-close views of the players and the action on the ice. Sections 116 and 117 begin with Row 3 just behind the player benches, while Row 1 is the first row in all other lower level sections.
Each row has roughly 26 rows of seating, with wheelchair-accessible seating occupying the last three rows of Section 117 behind the Wild bench. For the best views, choose Rows 15 and higher. These seats offer impressive views of the entire rink at a good elevation and are closer to the concourse.
For Wild games, fans seated in Row 1 receive additional amenities for being "on the glass".
Upper Level Ends (Hockey) Seating
The cheapest tickets for a Wild game are found in the sections behind the net on the upper level. As the ticket prices indicate, these seats are at the lower end of the spectrum when it comes to quality views. However, the front rows of these sections do offer better-than-expected views at a fraction of the cost of Club tickets that are just below them.
Each end section contains 8 or fewer rows of seating, which makes it easy to get up to the concourse from your seats. The Wild shoot twice towards sections 208-215.
Upper Level Sides (Hockey) Seating
Fans looking for a bargain should strongly consider side seating on the upper level. Though they're often more expensive than end seats on the upper level, the front rows of these side sections offer the same view as the back rows of the club level seats that are just below.
Rows 1-3 provide exceptional views of the ice and have to be considered the best deal in the arena. As you get into higher rows, the views begin to suffer - though you'll be closer to the concourse in these higher rows.
