Sections 17-20 are designated for Kansas students on gamedays.
Less than 10% of seats at Memorial Stadium offer some type of shade or cover. Below is a sample of seats that are at least partially covered or shaded at different times of the day. To search for tickets or to find out if your seats are protected from the sun or rain, follow the link for the seat finder.
The horseshoe shape of Kvisto Field (Memorial Stadium) means that endzone seating is only located on the north side of the field. These are typically the cheapest tickets for Kansas football, and most seats will have a direct view of the stadium's main videoboard.
The Kansas band typically occupies part of section 17 with student seating located nearby. For fans who enjoy this atmosphere, section 16 is an inexpensive option for being immersed in the school spirit. Keep in mind; however, that these are among the sunniest seats in the stadium and are fully exposed to the elements. Sections 10 and 11 in the northwest corner see slightly less sun and are located closer to the Kansas sideline.
Sideline seating is available on the East and West sides of Kansas' Memorial Stadium. Each section in this seating zone has roughly 70 rows of seats with row 1 located closest to the field. Entry tunnels are located near Row 18 in each section and lead directly to the concourse. An additional tunnel can be found near Row 43 which helps fans access the upper rows.
Our favorite seats within these sections are located between Rows 30 and 40. While seats in the lowest 10-15 rows can be obstructed by players on the sideline, these rows are at an ideal height for seeing over the players and for seeing side-to-side. The rows are also situated just below the upper tunnel, making it easier to access amenities.
While the seating on both sides is fairly similar, the west side is favored for two reasons. First, this is the Kansas side of the field with the KU players standing in front of sections 6-7. Second, this is the less sunny side of the field. You may not notice it at 11am when the game kicks off, but the sun will eventually begin to fall behind the press box on the west side and provide shade to many of the seats on that side of the field.
