Balcony Seats
(2026 Review) - On the Madison Square Garden seating chart, Balcony Seats are 300-Level seats at the ends of the arena. This includes sections 301-309 in the East Balcony and 317-323 in the West Balcony. These sections are located on the Chase Bridge level of MSG. West Balcony vs. East Balcony Lounges All Balcony sections include two rows of seats plus a row of barstools at the back. Guests will have a bird's eye view of the action from the top of the arena. East Balcony seats are also known as The Lounges. These seats are larger than normal stadium seats and are over-sized with extra padding. Behind the seats is a hospitality area with food, additional seating and drinks available for purchase. Lounge Seats are typically sold in group ticket packages, but are occasionally available to individual fans. Additional Notes West Balcony seats are rarely sold for concerts because they are behind an end-stage setupThey are available for Billy Joel concerts The Rangers shoot twice towards West Balcony sections Barstool rows are typically labeled BS (e.g.: BS3) A pre-set food menu is included for most major events in Lounge SeatsReview the seller notes when purchasing tickets to confirm
Behind the Stage
- For some shows at Madison Square Garden, seats will be sold behind the stage. These seats will have a view to the stage, but fans purchasing these tickets should understand there will likely be some obstructions to seeing the show. Fans purchasing tickets behind the stage should be aware of the following: Content or visuals projected on screens may be out of view Portions of the stage may be obstructed by lighting or equipment The performance will face the other direction Majority of the show will be looking at the performer's back Difference by Level The views from behind the stage differ greatly by level at Madison Square Garden. Those seated in the 100 level, 200 level, and Madison Club will have the clearest views of the stage. The window out to the stage in the 400 level is greatly restricted by the height of the level and overhang above. It is the least desirable location behind the stage for this reason. The 300 level balcony seats have clearer views, but views are steep to the stage due to the height. Fans with a fear of heights might want to stay away.
Seating and Ticket Q&A
Are there any obstructions from Section 322 at MSG for basketball?
The west balcony only includes three rows of seating (two rows of traditional seating and then bar-stool seats). These seats do not have any obstructed views like the 400 level seats below them.
