Best Seats For a Concert at KFC Yum! Center
The most common seating layout at KFC Yum! Center for concerts is an end-stage setup with the stage located near sections Section 101, Section 102 and Section 103. For many concerts there are also slight variations to the layout, which may include General Admission seats, fan pits and B-stages.
On the Floor: Sections Floor 1, Floor 2, Floor 3 and Floor 4 are Floor Seats, which offer some of the closest views of the performers. For many concerts, floor sections are added or removed. These performer-specific adjustments may alter the floor layout and the views from each floor section.
To the Side of the Stage: For close views of the stage with a little bit of elevation, consider seats to the side of the stage in Section 105, Section 106 and Section 116. The view is not head-on like on the floor, but many of the seats are closer to the stage, provide better elevation and are actual stadium seats.
Section 111 offers a comfortable head-on view for end-stage shows
Head-on to the Stage: Seats directly across from the stage, like those in Section 110, Section 111, Section 112 and Section 210 provide the most comfortable looks of the performance.
Even upper level sections offer unobstructed sitelines. Just keep in mind that you won't be able to see as much detail from these seats as you would if you sat closer to the stage.
Consider the Following When Buying Concert Tickets
Seats behind the stage are occassionally sold: Unless your main objective is to just get in the building, you'll want to completely avoid anything behind the stage - like those in/near or above sections Section 101, Section 102, Section 103 and Section 119. It's unlikely the performer will turn around to salute you - and you're more likely to be completely blocked out from seeing the show.
If you're on the shorter side (or bringing kids), consider floor seats only in the first few rows: The most common complaint amongst floor ticketholders is that they can't see the stage because of taller people in front of them. As an alternative, consider side sections near the stage that will still have you close and high enough to see.
Lower level side sections are not created equal: While the side sections closest to the stage are top-notch, side sections farther from the stage may leave you with a cramp in your neck. Sections 107 and 115 are not well-angled towards the stage - leaving you to turn your head for an ideal view. Instead, consider head-on sections in the lower level or even close side seats in the upper level like 307 and 324.

Corner sections on the lower level are further from the stage than the side sections, and do not have the great head-on views found in the lower level end sections. While these sections do not benefit from straight away views or close proximity, they are typically some of the more affordable seats on the lower tier.
Lower level corner sections have as many as 30 lettered rows of seating, with the single letters located at the front and double letters at the back.
Lower Level End (Concert) Seating
With head on views and a lower seating tier position, the Lower Level End sections are a great option for fans that want to look right at the center of the stage but don't want to be too far away.
These seating areas have as many as 31 rows of seating, with single lettered rows in front, and double lettered rows in back.
Lower Level Side (Concert) Seating
Just off the sides of the stage on the lower seating tier, the Lower Level Side sections are home to the closest views with stadium style seating. The elevation between rows makes it easier to see over the fans in front, and give a good viewing angle to the elevated stage.
Sections in this location have up to 31 rows of seating, with single lettered rows located at the front, and double lettered rows at the back.
Upper Level Corner (Concert) Seating
Far from the stage and lacking head on views, the Upper Level Corner seats have some of the least desirable views for a traditional end stage concert. However, these are also some of the best areas for finding a cheap ticket and just getting in the door to see a show.
Sections in this location have up to 23 lettered rows of seating.
Upper Level End (Concert) Seating
With head on views of the performance, the upper level end section seats will be able to look straight ahead and see all ares of the stage. The views are far from a traditional end stage, but offer less head turning that in the corner or side sections.
Sections in this location have up to 23 lettered rows of seating with Row A located at the front.
Upper Level Side (Concert) Seating
Upper level side sections are the best option for fans that want to stay close to the stage without spending the money demanded on the lower seating tier. These seats can have an extreme side view, but will be close to the performers compared to other options on the upper seating tier.
Sections in this location have up to 22 lettered rows of seating with Row A located at the front.
Lower Level Baseline (Basketball) Seating
The cheapest lower level tickets at the Yum Center are typically found behind in baseline sections behind either basket. These seats offer ticketholders close proximity to the court, though the baskets can interrupt some views of the court.
When choosing tickets in these sections, first consider rows A-F. These are closest to the court and also least obstructed by the basket. Unlike many basketball venues, these front rows are on risers, which makes it easier to see over fans seated in front of you.
If tickets in the lower rows are too expensive, aim for double-letter rows (AA-HH) in sections other than 101 and 111. Sections 101 and 111 are directly behind the basket, while other sections are closer to the corners and you'll have a better angle towards the court.
Lower Level Corner (Basketball) Seating
Corner sections are a great alternative to tickets behind the basket in the lower level. While the baskets still interfere with your view, you'll have a great angle towards center court and the other end of the court.
Single letter rows (like D) are always closer to the court than double-letter rows (like DD). While it may be tempting to sit in one of the lower rows, you can still find quality sitelines and easy access to the concourse from one of the higher rows.
For Louisville fans, row D in sections 118 and 119 are incredibly close to the Louiville bench, giving you unrivaled views of the players and coaches.
Lower Level Sideline (Basketball) Seating
Sections 105-107 and 115-117 are among the most desirable places to sit for a Louisville basketball game. These seats provide an unobstructed view of the action from within 30 rows of the court.
In each of these sections, single-letter rows are closest to the court, followed by double-letter rows. Sitting in row A will have you just a few feet from the players and coaches who sit in front of sections 117 (Louisville) and 115).
While the lower rows command the highest ticket prices in the stadium, consider saving a few dollars and purchasing seats in rows J-P. You'll have an outstanding view from within 15 rows of the court, and you'll be close to the concourse tunnel.
Upper Level Baseline (Basketball) Seating
As with most basketball arenas, the least desirable and cheapest options are behind the basket in the upper level. At the Yum Center, this will put you on either the east or west end of the arena.
Because both sides are essentially mirror images of one another, make row placement your key factor when purchasing tickets. The best seats are in rows A-F where you'll be in the lower tier of the upper level and where you'll walk down to your seats instead of up.
Upper Level Corner (Basketball) Seating
One of the hallmarks of the KFC Yum! Center is the intimacy of the venue. Despite a capacity of more than 20,000, the venue maintains its standing as a prominent basketball venue because of its impressive setup. Nowhere is this more appreciated than in the corners of the 300 level where sections can grow as high as 23 rows.
The overhanging 200 level and small ring of suites means that the corners of the 300 level are much closer to the court than at a typical large-scale basketball venue. Fans seated in the first six rows of sections like 305, 306, 310 and 311 are made to feel much engaged in the action thanks to their proximity.
Although the seats are closer to the court than expected, these 300 level corner sections are still very large. Few basketball venues have more than 15 rows in the upper level - so fans at the top rows in these sections should be prepared to be seated relatively high up and are advised to take caution when walking up the stairs to their seats. If walking stairs is difficult, aim for rows D-J which are close to the entry tunnel.
Upper Level Sideline (Basketball) Seating
With no sideline seating available on the 200 level (besides for suites), there are only a few sections where you can get a center court view without paying a lower level price. Though they're located on the third level of the Yum Center, Sections 307-309 and 322-324 typically offer tremendous value. They're typically much less expensive than 100 level seats and the view of the court far exceeds most corner and baseline options.
When choosing seats in these sections, pay close attention to the ticket row. The best seats are in rows A-K where you won't feel so high up (you'll be right above the suites) and you'll have easy access to the concourse tunnel.
