Features & Amenities

  • Outfield Grassy Berm: A general admission grass area that wraps around nearly the entire outfield at BayCare Ballpark.

  • Unreserved Seating: Fans sit directly on the ground; no stadium chairs are provided.

  • Budget-Friendly: Typically the most affordable way to see Philadelphia Phillies spring training in Clearwater.

  • Bullpen Proximity: The bullpens are cut into the berm, putting fans right next to relievers as they warm up.

Who should sit here?

The Berm is ideal for fans who want a relaxed, picnic-style atmosphere and those traveling with kids who need space to move around. It’s perfect for anyone looking to soak up the Florida sun after a long winter, provided they don't mind sitting on a blanket.

General Admission Berm Location

The Berm at BayCare Ballpark encompasses most of the outfield, extending from the left-center field wall all the way to the right-field foul pole. It is a large, sloped grassy hill positioned behind the outfield fence. Unlike stadiums with a single bleacher section, this grass area serves as the primary seating for the entire outfield, offering 360-degree access to the concourse.

Views from the Berm

Sitting on the grass provides a classic field-level view looking back toward the infield. You are positioned behind the outfielders, giving you a great sense of the stadium's scale and a clear look at the Philadelphia Phillies dugout on the third-base side. Because it is a sloped berm, fans sitting higher up the hill enjoy better sightlines over the outfield wall.

Berm Best Practices

  • Bring a Blanket: Since there are no chairs and the grass can be damp or prickly, a large blanket is essential. Please note that personal chairs are not permitted.

  • Sun Protection: There is no shade or relief from the sun on the berm. It is heavily exposed for the entire game, so high-SPF sunscreen, hats, and sunglasses are "must-haves."

  • Arrive Early: During popular games (like those against the Yankees or Blue Jays), the best spots right against the outfield fence fill up quickly. Arrive when gates open to claim your territory.

Alternative Outfield Seating

If you like the outfield vibe but want a dedicated seat and a table, the Tiki Terrace is a great upgrade. It offers barstool seating at ledges in left field.

Note: These seats are highlighted on the map

    Depends on crowd and weather

    BERM

I've sat out here and had great experiences and not so great experiences. The early spring training games are usually less crowded and more enjoyable. There are not many close concessions and left field has Frenchy's which is pretty crowded. If it is hot there is not much relief - only some weak fans in the back.
