LaVell Edwards Stadium is home to the BYU football team. The stadium's layout is fairly straightforward with just a few things to consider when purchasing tickets.
Lower vs. Upper Level Seats
When looking at the stadium's seating chart, sections closest to the field are labeled 1-49, and other sections are labeled in the 100s. While the numbering is different, the upper level (100s) seats are just an extension of the lower level.
Both levels have roughly 40 rows of seats with row 1 at the front of each section. Our favorite rows are 30-40 in the lower area and 1-10 in the upper area. These seats have the best views and easiest access to the concourse.
Sideline vs. Endzone Seating
The other consideration when purchasing tickets is deciding between a sideline and endzone seat. Most guests prefer sideline seats because the view is better and many of these seats are chairbacks. As a result, ticket prices along the side are much more expensive than on the ends.
BYU sits on the east sideline (e.g.: sections 31-317), but the west sideline gets shaded long before the east side.
BYU Sideline - The BYU sideline is in front of Section 33, Section 34 and Section 35
Visitor Sideline - The visiting team sideline is in front of Section 4, Section 5 and Section 6
The ROC student section for BYU football includes sections 36-45 and 136-143.
Visitor seating is available in Sections 21 and 121.
The views are not as desirable as those along the sidelines, but fans in the endzone will have great views to the videoboard at the opposite end of the field. Most of the south endzone is reserved for BYU Student seating, found in Sections 41-45. Designated visiting team seating can be found in the north endzone at Section 21.
Most endzone sections on the lower tier feature 40 numbered rows of seating, with entry tunnels located closer to the front.
Sideline seating on the lower tier of LaVell Edwards stadium offers fans some of the best views available for a football game. Rows 9 and higher are located in the upper main portion of the sections, while the lower numbered rows keep fans as close to the action as possible.
Chairback seating is available in all rows of Sections 3-7 on the West sideline, as well as the first 8 rows of Sections 1-2 and 8-9. On the east sideline, fans can find chairbacks in Rows 9 and higher in Sections 33A, 33B, 34, and 35A (these areas are also known as the Legacy Chair and East Club).
Student seating is located near the south endzone in Sections 36 and 37.
The upper endzone is the best place to look for a cheap BYU football ticket at LaVell Edwards Stadium. The views are further than most, but head on sight lines to the endzone videoboards helps to improve the experience of viewing the far endzone.
Student seating is found in Sections 141-143 in the south endzone, while visiting team seating can be found in sections 121 at the north endzone.
Best for fans that want a sideline view at a more affordable price, seats here will have a further view but provide a good viewing height to see any area of the field. Chairback seating is available in Sections 103-107 on the West sideline, making these sections some of the most popular on the upper seating tier.
Section 136-137 on the East side of the field is designated for students during BYU home games.
