Baseball is almost back, and with two home openers in the NL West averaging more than $200 per ticket, its clear that fans are excited for the first pitch to open the 2013 MLB regular season. The San Francisco Giants have won 2 World Series titles in the past 3 years, and given that level of success it shouldn't come as a shock that they're creating high demand and high ticket prices, and not only in the city by the bay.

Giants Opening Day Tickets at AT&T Park

Its no surprise to see the defending World Series champs are also the owners of some of the the highest ticket prices we've seen in our look at MLB 2013 Opening Day. Add in a Friday afternoon start, a solid contender in the St. Louis Cardinals, and you have a recipe for high demand. The Dodgers have a tall task in their home opener as they face off against the reigning MLB title holders, the San Francisco Giants. This NL West division contest will certainly be one of the premiere matchups of Opening Day 2013, and ticket prices are reflecting the anticipation. Dodgers Opening Day Tickets are second highest in the NL West with an average price of $223, but fans can get in the door for around $80 with some of the most affordable seats on the upper levels.

A modest matchup against the Padres doesn't indicate that this would be a big ticket, but the late friday afternoon game is a great way for fans to start their weekend in Denver. Rockies Opening Day Tickets are averaging $146, and fans looking at the most affordable options can expect to pay around $70.

The Padres have one of the later home openers in the league, welcoming the Dodgers to town on Tuesday, April 9th. The teams are separated by a manageable 2 hour drive, which could be one of the factors keeping average ticket prices in the triple digits. Padres Opening Day Tickets are averaging $116, while some of the cheapest tickets are going for $35. The team is giving away opening day t-shirts and 2013 schedules to fans in attendance.
