General Admission Seating
- General Admission Seating - General admission tickets are occasionally available for Kansas basketball games. The KU student section is the most prominent general admission area ...
Allen Fieldhouse is one of the most iconic venues in college basketball. It reminds most fans of a high school gym - but with more than 16,000 seats, it's one of the largest arenas in the country.
Seating Tiers
While most stadiums have different levels of seats, Allen Fieldhouse has continuous seating from the floor to the top row. Sections are loosely organized into tiers with more expensive seats usually belonging to a lower-number tier (e.g.: Tier 1).
Lettered Sections
The seats closest to the court are labeled with a letter. Among these, sections H-F and R-T are widely considered the best seats for Kansas basketball. Guests enjoy a sideline view from within 11 rows of the court.
Most lettered sections behind the basket (e.g.: M) are occupied by KU students.
Numbered Sections
Directly above lettered sections are numbered sections. Rows reset in these sections so Row 1 in Section 17 is actually the 12th row from the court (sections behind the basket begin about 20 rows from the court).
Similar to finding a golden ticket, if you purchase tickets in a gold seat in this area, you'll have one of the stadium's coveted chairback seats. These sections have more comfortable seats, excellent views and good access to the concourse.
While most will argue that there's no bad seat at the Phog, the farthest seats are in the top row of corner sections. These areas aren't exactly well-lit and can feel a little removed from the action. If this bothers you, consider spending a few extra dollars to be closer to the action.
Other Notes
Student seating for Kansas basketball is found in sections 20, 20A, and 21 as well as V, V1, and A-C.
Additional student seating can be found ion the opposite side of the court in sections 11, 12, M and N.
The best seats at Allen Fieldhouse are sections located along the sidelines in the lower level. This includes sections U-Q on the players side and E-J on the opposite side.
Each of these sections has an unobstructed view of the court from within 11 rows.
The best views at Allen Fieldhouse may very well be in the Upper Level. Sections 4-8 and 15-19 run along the sideline and have excellent, elevated sightlines towards the court.
Among these, the first 19 rows in sections 4-8 are the best. They are chairback seats and have direct views of the player benches.
Wheelchair accessible seating is located on the floor level, at both the north and south ends of Allen Fieldhouse. There is a dedicated drop off area for fans requiring accessible seats which can be found at the south end of the arena, and handicap parking is available on a first come first serve basis for $25. Parking lots with handicap designated spots include Lot 54 to the north (just off of Irving Hill Road), as well as Lot 71 to the south (off of Schwegler Drive).
