Best Seats for Great Views of the Field at Target Field

Recommended seats are highlighted on the map

Target Field is one of baseball's newest ballparks - and easily one of the five best parks from which to watch a game. Whether you're working within a budget or simply want the best seats, there are a number of different options to satisfy every fan.

Most fans seeking out a great view will gravitate towards sections 1-17 near the infield. All seats in these sections are within 13 rows of the field and offer the closest proximity to the players. Unfortunately, these seats are so close to the field that there is netting at the front of sections 1-17 to protect fans from baseballs and bats that fly into the stands. While you probably wouldn't skip out on the opportunity to sit here solely because of the netting, it can be distracting to fans who simply want a completely clear view of the field.

As an alternative to the sections closest to the field, consider rows 20-25 in the 100 level sections directly above. These seats are still located in the lower level and have an excellent view of the field. The added elevation allows you to see the field more comfortably, and also allows you to see over the netting when seated behind the dugouts (if seated behind home plate, you will still look through the netting, but it won't be as disruptive from a higher row). Sit on the third base side to look towards downtown Minneapolis or on the first base side to be above the Twins dugout and for a direct view of the main videoboard.

For the most comfortable experience and views at Target Field, purchase tickets in the lettered sections on the second seating deck. Sections A-R are part of the exclusive Legends Club seating area which features upscale amenities and some of the best views of the game. These sections are located at an ideal height for seeing the entire field clearly, and they hang over the lower seating bowl to bring you closer to the field. You'll also be treated to in-seat wait service to ensure that you don't miss a minute of the action.

Views from the upper deck at Target Field are about what you'd expect in that you tend to get what you pay for. When looking at tickets in these sections, we recommend spending the extra money to sit in the 200 level sections. These sections are smaller than their 300-level counterparts which makes for easier trips to restrooms and concessions and fewer stairs to walk. Seats behind home plate in sections 214-216 come with a great birds eye view, or choose something in 217-220 where you get one of the best views of the city.

For an entirely unique experience at field level, consider tickets in the first three rows of sections 102-104 or 124-126. While these sections are located far down their respective baseline, they are severely angled back towards home plate. The angle - combined with being at field level - will give you almost the same view towards the infield as the left-fielder or right-fielder get. As an added bonus, with the way these sections shoot out towards the field, a number of foul balls end up in the hands of patrons seated in the front rows.

A few more notes when looking to get the best view at Target Field:

  • Outfield seats soak up most of the sun, but the first base side is also slightly less bothered by the sun than seats on the third base side
  • The main scoreboard is high above the seats in left field and is best seen from elevated seats on the first base side; a smaller scoreboard is above the right field seats
  • For the best views of downtown Minneapolis, purchase a cheap ticket in one of the upper deck sections on the third base side of the field
