Best Seats for Great Views of the Field at RingCentral Coliseum

Recommended seats are highlighted on the map

What do you get when you have the last remaining dual-purpose stadium in the NFL and MLB? Quite frankly, a stadium that is good for neither sport and one that the Raiders are trying to run from. Despite their impending relocation, the Raiders will play at Oakland Coliseum at least through the 2018 season. The Coliseum offers a terrible layout for football, though there are a few hidden gems among the muck. Continue reading to learn which seats offer the best views for football in Oakland.

Views From the 100 Level

The lower level of the Coliseum offers a number of distinct seating choices. Sideline seating and corner seating is vastly different depending on which side you are on, and the endzone seats are among the best in the NFL.

If you prefer a midfield view, we recommend sections 140-144. While these are above the visitor sideline, these seats are much closer to the field than their counterparts on the opposite side (115-119). Just make sure you're seated high enough to see over the players on the sideline. We like rows 28-37 the best - from here you can comfortably see over the players and the nuances of these temporary sections are less noticeable.

If you'd rather sit on the Raiders side, sections 111 and 123 are actually some of the coolest seats in football. These seats are angled sharply towards midfield, and they are the closest sections to the field on the Raiders sideline. Try rows 21 and above for the most comfortable views and the best experience.

One final consideration in the lower level is endzone seating. We typically don't recommend these seats for getting a great view because it can be difficult to see the field. However, these seats are so close to the field - and the view of the near endzone is so good - they are worth a mention. Just keep in mind that sections in the South endzone are part of the Black Hole and you're likely to stand the whole game if seated among that crowd.

200 Level Seats

One of the safer bets for a decent view is in the 200 level of the Coliseum. Because the lower level does not rise too high from the ground, the second seating deck is at an adequate height for a comfortable view.

The best seats in this area are all part of club seating, which typically results in some of the highest ticket prices for a Raiders game. If you're not deterred by the pricing, you'll have to make a choice on which side to sit on.

The best sections on the East side of the field are labeled 240-243. These seats are located between the 25-yardlines and provide a top-notch view of the game. Unfortunately, these seats are also on the sunny side of the field. Though the temperature won't be too much of an issue for fall games, the setting sun can be blinding to fans in these sections.

To have the sun behind you, head to the Raiders side of the field and look towards sections 209-224. Among these, sections 215-219 are located closest to midfield - but they are also the farthest club seats from the field. For better value and a more unique view, we like sections 211, 212, 221 and 222. These seats are much closer to the field, they have a great angle towards the action, and you can see the videoboards comfortably.

Upper Level Sections

The 300 level at the Coliseum doesn't get a lot of love, but compared to the awkwardness of the other two levels, it's not a bad place to watch a football game. In fact, because the stadium doesn't have the gaudy rings of suites that other stadiums have (Levi's Stadium, anyone?), the upper deck sections are not nearly as high as in most NFL stadiums.

Raiders fans seemed to have caught on to this fact in recent years. Ticket prices in these sections don't provide as much value as they did just a few years ago. Never-the-less, you can find a quality view anywhere in the first six rows of most sections.

Our favorite seats in the top deck are sections 308-311. While these may not be top-of-mind for most fans, these sections offer a comfortable view of the game and the scoreboard. The seats are well-angled towards the field and aren't pushed back as far as sideline seating on the 300 level. And because the sun sets behind these sections, you can leave the sunglasses at home and enjoy an uninterrupted view of the field (and even some views of the surrounding scenery).   - RateYourSeats.com
