Best Seats For a Concert at SAP Center

The most common seating layout at SAP Center for concerts is an end-stage setup with the stage located near sections Section 118, Section 120 and Section 121. For many concerts there are also slight variations to the layout, which may include General Admission seats, fan pits and B-stages.

view from SAP Center Floor seats
Floor seats - like those in Floor 1 - are among the most sought-after tickets

On the Floor: Sections Floor 1, Floor 2 and Floor 3 are Floor Seats, which offer some of the closest views of the performers. For many concerts, floor sections are added or removed. These performer-specific adjustments may alter the floor layout and the views from each floor section.

To the Side of the Stage: For close views of the stage with a little bit of elevation, consider seats to the side of the stage in Section 101, Section 115 and Section 116. The view is not head-on like on the floor, but many of the seats are closer to the stage, provide better elevation and are actual stadium seats.

head-on concert view at SAP Center
Section 109 offers a comfortable head-on view for end-stage shows

Head-on to the Stage: Seats directly across from the stage, like those in Section 107, Section 109, Section 207 and Section 208 provide the most comfortable looks of the performance.

Even upper level sections offer unobstructed sitelines. Just keep in mind that you won't be able to see as much detail from these seats as you would if you sat closer to the stage.

Consider the Following When Buying Concert Tickets

Seats behind the stage are occassionally sold: Unless your main objective is to just get in the building, you'll want to completely avoid anything behind the stage - like those in/near or above sections Section 118, Section 120, Section 121 and Section 123. It's unlikely the performer will turn around to salute you - and you're more likely to be completely blocked out from seeing the show.

If you're on the shorter side (or bringing kids), consider floor seats only in the first few rows: The most common complaint amongst floor ticketholders is that they can't see the stage because of taller people in front of them. As an alternative, consider side sections near the stage that will still have you close and high enough to see.

Lower level side sections are not created equal: While the side sections closest to the stage are top-notch, side sections farther from the stage may leave you with a cramp in your neck. Sections 102 and 114 are not well-angled towards the stage - leaving you to turn your head for an ideal view. Instead, consider head-on sections in the lower level or even close side seats in the upper level like 216 and 228.

Seating Tips & Advice

  • "Wasted of $900" - Try wasting $900 on four Eagles tix. I have been to 6-7 Eagles concerts, and first bad one. Band some what flat, and the venue was the worst. The promoters has Nazi police making everyone in the front 25 rows sit down most of the time, and if you took a picture, they threatened to turn you in to the San Jose police department. One block head security guard tried to throw a lady in front of us out of the concert for texting. Eagles get an B-, HP Pavilion gets A-, concert promoters and security gets a straight F.

    Venue & Seating Questions

    • What are the handicap sections/seat numbers at the SAP Center?

Handicap seating is available in row WCA for the following sections: 102, 107, 109, 110, 112, 120, 121, 123, 124, 128, 213, 217, 224, 225 (Row WCA is located at the top of the sections).

This is the view from Section 107 at the SAP Center, one of the sections with handicap accessible seating at the back.
    • What is the best way to access the seats on the lower level?

Entry tunnels are available at the very top of each lower level seating section at the SAP Center. However, if you are sitting in Rows 16 and lower of Sections 101-117 and 126-128 (please note that these are also the Club Seats for Sharks hockey games), you will have access to a closer entry tunnel located just above Row 15.

These lower entry tunnels lead to the main aisle (located between your section and the neighboring section) in Sections 103-106, 110-113, 117, and 126-127.

But for the fans sitting in Sections 101-102, 107-109, 114-116, and 128, the lower entry tunnel leads to an additional aisle which runs down the middle of the section, creating additional aisle seats and easier access for fans in Rows 16 and below.

    • Can I see the show if I buy seats behind stage at SAP Center?

Seats behind the stage will have a very limited view of the performance, and it will be rare to see the front of the band. While these are the most affordable seats for the show, not being able to see the front of the performance can make you feel disconnected from the show.

Behind the Stage Seating at SAP Center
While affordable, seats behind the stage will have little to no view of the performers
    • How many rows in each section at SAP Center?
Each section has a varying amount of rows and seats. Find a section to see row and/or seat numbers.
    • Is seat number 1 on the left or right side of sections?
