  • Section 432 Reviews

Not well lit, and steep stairs on the aisle

    Apr 2014

    Basketball Review
    Section 432, Row 12, Seat 2

The view from these seats is better than other sections directly behind the backboard, however its still high up and in the corner of the Toyota Center. Don't expect much when it comes to legroom up here and sadly there are no cup holders either. Over anything else I noticed how dark it is up in this section. Poor lighting and being tucked in the corner gives the experience a theater feel, and also make the already steep stairs even more dangerous to traverse. I was near the aisle on the right (where it was darkest), and saw a small child stumble on the steps of the aisle. Thankfully he didn't fall, but he did drop his full Pepsi as a result. After seeing that it would be hard for me recommend this section to anyone with small children, or who does not see well in low light.

    • 400 Level Baseline (Basketball)

      -

Most Baseline seating in the Upper Level is made up of 16 rows (exceptions in handicap accessible rows) with the first row being Row 1. Row 14 in Sections 401 and 418 are wheelchair accessible with seating available at the top of these sections.  Upper Level Baseline seats are among the furthest away from the court, but are also among the least expensive seats in Toyota Center. The front rows in these baseline sections are just above the last rows in 100 level seating and are lower to the court than the first rows in 400 level sideline seats - making them a good value for fans on a budget. Just beware that sitting in the front row does lead to long walks up and down the stairs each time you want to reach the concourse.

    • "Better than having to walk down to first row"

      (Section 401) - -

The view from behind the basket is not so great. The view of the other end of the court is pretty good (the Rockets shoot there in the 3rd and 4th quarters), but the view of the near basket is really obstructed by the hoop. The entrance to the section is in the top row, so you only have to walk d...

    • "Interesting Perspective Behind the Camera Well"

      (Section 415) - -

There is a camera well right in front of these seats, so this was actually the first row of seating in this section. Sounds like a good thing since no one is in front of you, but they put up a railing so you don't attack the cameraman (or fall two feet into his camera well) and it really obstructs ...
