    Darn Railing

    Apr 2014

    Basketball Review
    Section 410, Row 1

I was curious what it was gonna be like in the first row of the 400 level. I read conflicting reports. Ultimately, the seats are pretty disappointing. First, if you sit back in your seat, the railing is going to block your view unless you're about the size of Hakeem the Dream. This means you're leaning forward if you want to see the whole court. Second, these are the most expensive 400 level seats, but they come with the longest walk up and down the stairs. Why did they put the upper level entrance at the top? Just punishes the fans who paid good money for the lowest rows in the 400 level. Otherwise, Section 410 is a pretty good section to sit in. Right at midcourt. If I sat in Row 2, I think I would have had a much better experience because the railing could have been avoided. I would try sitting in 410 in the future, but more in like Row 5 or 6.

    Great View of Everything

    • 400 Level Center (Basketball)

      -

Center seating in the Upper Level is made up of Sections 425-428 and 408-411. The most popular sections in the 400 level are 409, 410, 426 and 427 which are closest to center court and have the best views of the enormous videoboard. When choosing seats in these sections, pay close attention to the row you're considering. While Row A is at the front and easily has the best views of the court, it's also farthest away from concessions and restrooms. The section entrance is located at the top of each of these sections. Therefore, fans in the last row (13) will have the fewest stairs to walk and will have near-instant access to the concourse and its amenities.

    • 400 Level Side (Concert)

      -

When looking at the Toyota Center seating chart, there are two main levels of seating: the 100 level and the 400 level. A large block of premium seating is located between the lower and upper levels. This keeps seats in the 400 level closer to the floor, but also much higher up. In other words, you may feel as you're looking straight down onto the stage. Generally speaking, we have found the views from the closest side sections - 408 and 428 - to be fairly good. Views from these sections will be slightly blocked by sound and lighting equipment, but most of the stage is visible. For a better experience without any potential obstructions, consider the front rows of 409 and 427. You'll have a clear view to the stage and will even have a view of the video screens. One area of consideration for the side sections on the upper level is that the entrance to these seats is located at the top row. So, while row 1 seats will have the closest views, they'll also come with the longest walks up and down the (steep) stairs. If deciding between two sets of tickets that you think are fairly equal, you may want to choose the set in the higher row as they'll be more convenient.

      (Section 426) - -

At Row 9 I was seated in just the 2nd row from the top of the section, and thankfully it didn't require a far walk down the steep steps along the aisle. Being seated at the top of the section also provided quick easy access to the plethora of concession stands just outside the section, as well as g...
