Tickets for Beyonce and Jay Z's highly anticipated "On the Run" tour went on sale to the general public earlier today. The tour is scheduled for 16 shows across the U.S. and Canada, and marks the first time that the powerhouse husband and wife tandem will headline together.

Compared to the year long "Mrs. Carter Show" world tour which featured 132 performances on almost every continent, the scheduled dates this summer should seem like a breeze for the former Destiny's Child star. Husband Jay Z has been every bit as busy, co-headlining with Justin Timberlake last summer followed by a number of solo performances which wrapped up earlier this year. But this time around will be undeniably memorable as the couple share the spotlight for a full set list.

Excitement around the shows has exploded in the last week, and demand for tickets is through the roof even with the rich price tags that tickets are currently fetching.

  • $350 ... average ticket price across all 16 shows
  • $66 ... cheapest available ticket among all shows (Rogers Centre, Toronto)
  • Rose Bowl Stadium ... most expensive get-in price (cheapest ticket is $171)
  • An arm and a leg ... what it will cost you for a VIP Pit experience ($5,100 at Minute Maid Park, Houston)

But if your budget can handle it, the "On the Run" tour will be one of the premiere concert events of 2014. Shows are quickly selling out, so its best to do your research and move fast on getting your tickets.
