Good upper deck positioning spoiled by railings

Directly behind home plate on the upper seating tier provides a good position to see most areas of the field, but the railings cause a big issue when watching the pitchers mound and batters box. The railing just in front of my seats as well as the railing in the section below were annoyingly in the way of viewing the pitchers mound and the batters box. I either had to lean far forward to try and get a clear view, or slouch down like a slob to get the mound and home plate between railings so I could somewhat see both areas at the same time. Other than the railings though, these would have been great upper deck seats. I could see both outfield corners, both dugouts, and had a good view of the main scoreboard above right field. Cup holders were a nice touch for upper deck seats, and were mounted to the railing just in front of the seats. If you don't mind leaning forward for the entire game, these seats might be a good inexpensive option. But if you are like me and prefer to sit back in the seat and be able to still see the game, I would not recommend sitting here.

View level seats aren't for the faint of heart - they're pretty high up there - but the first few rows of seating are a bargain compared to Terrace Level seats just below. The Astros did a great job playing the elements in the upper deck at Minute Maid Park. Although many of the seats down the line are an incredible distance from home plate, they are well covered from the sun. Additionally, men's, women's and family restrooms are never too far away, which is unusual for upper deck seating. The tunnel entrance is located at Row 1, so get seats as low as you can to reduce your walk up the steep stairs. Additional View Level Notes Sections 417-421 give you great views of the entire field Avoid sections 430-438 if you want to see the scoreboard

The upper sections on the first base side have a few support pillars that you should watch out for, and Section 423 Row 17 Seat 14 is a shining example.
